St. Anne’s Altar Society Minutes

July 12, 2008

Present:  Marty Davis, Linda Grogan, Kelly Moran, Carolyn Dodson, Eileen Evers, Phyllis Massey, Rosemary Matelski, JoAnn Bartz, Joan Vallier, Emma Brown, Barbara LaJoice, Dolores Caverly, Evelyn Corp, Prudy Mills, Sandy Thorin, Mary Kaye Ruegg, Andrea Tamlyn, Sara Hill, Susan Massaway, and Denise Binger

The meeting was called to Order by Mary Kaye Ruegg.

Opening Prayer was given by Denise Binger.

A sign-in sheet was passed around.

A get well card for Virginia Olmstead was passed around.

The Treasurer’s Report was given by Sara Hill.  As on 7/12/2008 we have $1,349.92 in the checking and $3,159.73 in the savings.

Last month’s minutes were briefly gone over for those who were not in attendance.

It was decided that the committee chair would pick the dates and contact the other committee chairs as needed for each project.  Committees were discussed and members agreed to participate or were going to be contacted regarding their wish to participate as follows:

The chair will be contacting the KC’s to see if they would like to help.

Food               Marge Robinson

(Sara will check with Marge to see if she will call for food items for all functions.  Does she need any help calling?  Maybe ask for a donation of money or items if can’t cook food.)

(Susan Massaway will get Mrs. Robinson a new Call list, they will utilize Evelyn’s idea of 20 names and divide the list in half and ask if they can not provide food would they like to donate money or a non-perishable instead.)

Hospitality     Joan Vallier

Funeral           Committee in Place currently will remain in place.

Check with Mr. and Mrs. Soczek regarding taking lead on this.  Sandy will not be able to do as much right now.

Food donations have not been an issue.  The question was asked as to what to do with leftover food.  Joan said ask family of deceased first.  Denise will check at DHS to see if Rhonda could be the contact person to find families that may need the food.

What are needed are additional names of individuals who will serve and clean up.  Mary Kaye will call Rosemary Irwin to invite to meeting and or discuss the possibility of Immaculate Conception women may like to be involved in funeral breakfasts.

Youth Liaison  Anne

                        Anne has youth already lined up to help with these projects.

Cake Walk     Denise  Binger

Dates will be decided at the next meeting

First Sunday Bake Sales      Sara will check with Jersins to see if they are interested in chairing this fundraiser.

Religious Items          Helen Thibault

Mary Kaye Ruegg will check to see if she or any of her relatives would be interested in being in charge of this committee.

Cinnamon Rolls        Andrea Tamlyn

It was agreed that we would like to do this two times a year during the bake sale or in place of the First Sunday bake sale

BC Pizza         Andrea discussed the possibility of working on Tuesday evening with BC Pizza.  All donations and tips would go towards the St. Ignatius Loyola Church/St. Anne’s Altar Society.  We will have to pay for the Flyers; Andrea will check and see if Anne thinks the youth would fit with this activity.

Lion’s Dinners          Pat and Dave Ramsay

Sara reported that in 2007 the Lion’s paid approximately $750.00 for their dinner.   The food costs run about $300.00.  It was agreed that this fundraiser should be persuade for next year.  The lions have two dinners in January and two dinners in February.  It was suggested to ask Eileen Evers and Jean Huskey if either, or both of them, would like to be in charge of this committee.  Mary Kaye will check with these individuals.  It was also suggested to ask the Youth Committee for volunteers.

Mary Kaye and Susan will prepare something to go in bulletin regarding who is on the committees and possibly their contact information.

Several items were tabled until next meeting because of time restrains:  Garage Sale, Formal Dinner, Raffle Tickets.

Mary Kaye Ruegg closed with a prayer.

Next meeting Second Saturday, August 9, 2008 after 5pm Mass.
