The Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist
From the Last Supper in Jerusalem, in which Jesus blessed the bread and wine and declared, "This is My Body, ... this is My Blood" (Matthew 26:26-28), to the present day, the Catholic Church has taught and believes without doubt or exception that the eucharistic bread and wine, consecrated by the priest, are the Real Presence of Jesus Christ.
St. Paul in 1 Corinthians 11:23-25 emphasizes the importance of the doctrine of the Real Presence. He sees dire consequences in unbelief: "Anyone who eats and drinks without discerning the body eats and drinks judgment upon himself" (1 Cor 11:29).
The Council of Trent in 1551 A.D. reaffirmed this, as reflected in the current Catechism of the Catholic Church, para. 1374: "In the most blessed sacrament of the Eucharist 'the body and blood, together with the soul and divinity, of our Lord Jesus Christ and, therefore, the whole Christ is truly, really, and substantially contained.'"
Vatican Council II in The Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy, 4 Dec 1963, states: "He [Christ] is present in the Sacrifice of the Mass not only in the person of his minister, 'the same now offering, through the ministry of priests, who formerly offered himself on the cross,' but especially in the eucharistic species."

The Apostle's Creed
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day He rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
